Privacy & cookies

Consomee is operated by the independent publisher of Consomee (company registration in progress — email hello@consomee.com for the current registered details) (“Consomee,” “we,” or “us”). Privacy requests may be sent to privacy@consomee.com. Postal address available on request — email privacy@consomee.com. You can use Consomee without an account. Pantry ingredients, saved recipes, shopping-list items, checklist state and theme preference are stored in your browser and are not sent to us by those features.

Information We Process

On your device, never transmitted to us. The pantry search runs entirely in your browser: the ingredients you type are matched against a recipe index your browser has downloaded. Nothing about your pantry, your saved recipes or your shopping list reaches our servers or any third party. The full list of what is stored locally:

You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for consomee.com in your browser. There is nothing on our side to delete, because there is nothing on our side.

Processed when you visit. Like any website, requests to consomee.com carry your IP address, user agent and the page you asked for. Cloudflare processes these to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and produces aggregate traffic counts that contain no per-visitor identifier. We do not run a cookie-based analytics product on this site.

Advertising. Google AdSense may process your IP address, user agent, the page URL and — subject to the consent rules below — advertising cookies and identifiers, in order to select and measure ads.

If you email us. We receive your address and whatever you write, and keep it only as long as needed to handle the matter and to show we handled it.

Purposes and Legal Bases

• Delivering and securing the site — legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We cannot serve a page without processing the request.
• Aggregate, cookieless traffic measurement — legitimate interests. No profile is built and no identifier persists between visits.
• Advertising and ad measurement — consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, obtained before any advertising cookie is set or ad script executes. Elsewhere, legitimate interests, with an opt-out available at any time from the footer of every page.
• Responding to correspondence — legitimate interests, or the steps prior to a contract where relevant.

Vendors and Recipients

These are every third party your browser contacts while using Consomee, what triggers each request, and how to opt out. We sell no personal information and share none for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond what this table describes.

Cookies and Local Storage

Consomee itself sets no cookies. The keys listed at the top of this page are browser local storage, which is not transmitted with requests. Advertising cookies, if any, are set by Google under the consent rules above; their names and lifetimes are Google's and are documented in the Google policy linked in the vendor table.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, advertising scripts are held at our edge and never execute until you make a choice, and Google Consent Mode signals default to denied. Outside those regions ads load by default and your choice, once made, is honoured on every subsequent page. Change it at any time with Manage privacy choices in the footer.

Retention

• Local storage: until you clear it. We cannot see it and cannot delete it for you.
• Edge and security logs: retained by Cloudflare under its own schedule, linked in the vendor table.
• Advertising data: retained by Google under its own schedule, linked in the vendor table.
• Email you send us: up to 24 months, then deleted, unless a longer period is needed for a legal claim.

International Transfers

Cloudflare and Google are US-headquartered and operate global infrastructure, so processing may occur outside your country, including in the United States. Both rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Their current transfer terms are in the policies linked in the vendor table.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@consomee.com and we will respond within one month (or the shorter period your law requires).

Because Consomee has no accounts and no server-side profile, in most cases the data you are asking about is either (a) in your own browser, where you control it directly, or (b) held by Cloudflare or Google, in which case we will tell you exactly that and point you at their controls rather than pretend to have deleted something we never held.

If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland you may also complain to your national supervisory authority.

Children

Consomee is a general-audience cooking utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. There are no accounts, and no feature invites a visitor to submit personal details. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to privacy@consomee.com and we will delete it.

California and Global Privacy Control

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, other than the advertising described in the vendor table. California residents may exercise access, deletion, correction and opt-out rights using the contact above, and will not be discriminated against for doing so.

Global Privacy Control: a browser or extension sending a GPC signal is treated as an opt-out of advertising personalisation for that browser. You can also set the choice yourself, in any region, with Manage privacy choices in the footer.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only, with HSTS, a content security policy, clickjacking protection and a restrictive permissions policy. Consomee is a static site with no user database and no login, which removes whole categories of risk rather than mitigating them. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Changes

If we change this notice materially we will update the effective date at the top and, for changes that affect how your information is used, say so on the site.
