How to make it
- Set a toaster or a dry skillet over medium heat while you gather the toppings.
- Toast the bread slices until golden brown and crisp on both sides, about 2 to 3 minutes, working in batches if needed.
- Spread the warm toast generously with butter so it melts into the surface.
- Stir the ground cinnamon together with the sugar in a small bowl, then dust it over half of the buttered slices for cinnamon toast.
- Spread the remaining slices with honey or jam according to preference.
- Cut each slice in half and serve immediately while still warm and crisp.
