How to make it
- Wrap each hot dog with 2 slices of bacon in a spiral, tucking the ends underneath so they hold during cooking.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon-wrapped hot dogs, turning them every couple of minutes, for about 8 to 10 minutes until the bacon is crisp all over and the dogs are heated through.
- Move the hot dogs to a plate, drain off most of the bacon fat, then return the skillet to medium heat and add the butter.
- Crack the eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the whites are fully set and the yolks reach your preferred doneness, cooking until firm if serving to anyone vulnerable.
- Lay a slice of cheese over each hot dog while it is still hot so it melts, then warm or lightly toast the buns in the skillet.
- Nestle each cheesy hot dog into a bun and top with a fried egg, then serve immediately while everything is hot.
