How to make it
- In a blender or large bowl combine the flour, eggs, sugar, milk, water, vanilla, melted butter and a pinch of salt, then blend or whisk until the batter is completely smooth and has the consistency of thin cream.
- Let the batter rest at room temperature for at least 20 minutes, which relaxes the flour and gives more tender crepes; stir gently before using if it has separated.
- Heat a non-stick or crepe pan over medium heat and lightly wipe it with a little butter on a paper towel.
- Pour about 60 ml of batter into the centre of the pan and immediately swirl the pan so the batter spreads into a thin even circle.
- Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes until the edges lift and the underside is golden, then flip and cook the second side for another 30 to 60 seconds; repeat with the remaining batter, stacking the finished crepes.
- While each crepe is still warm, spread about 2 tablespoons of the chocolate hazelnut spread evenly over the surface so it softens slightly.
- Fold each crepe into quarters or roll it up, then serve topped with a spoonful of sweetened whipped cream and any extra spread drizzled over the top.
